Fresh off the the announcement of another blockbuster Red Rocks set and the release of a 34-track album, Skrillex is once again facing the challenge of demand far outpacing access—and he’s not taking it lightly.

Few expected Skrillex’s triumphant return to Red Rocks to spark a conversation about the future of ticketing. Minutes after tickets went on sale for his five-hour set on May 13th, resale listings began flooding the internet, many asking hundreds over face value.

Bots and scalpers had struck again. Rather than let the situation unfold in silence, Skrillex took to X with a message for his fans. “I’m sorry to the people who try to buy my tickets get taken advantage of by scalpers,” he wrote. “It’s beyond upsetting and makes me feel terribly.”

The show, announced following the release of his long-awaited album FCK U SKRILLEX YOU THINK UR ANDY WARHOL BUT UR NOT!! <3, is among the most anticipated electronic concerts of the year. Following the legendary 2023 debut of the same five-hour Red Rocks performance format, expectations were high, and so was competition for tickets.

“My #1 focus before I ever book a tour again is to see how we can do much better at this,” Skrillex continued.

Fans familiar with his 2023 Red Rocks show will recognize this isn’t just talk. That year, a similar surge of scalper activity led Skrillex and his team to actively recover a portion of the tickets and launch a new, fan-first distribution process through Fair AXS.

That model, which gave fans a registration window to buy tickets directly and securely, offered a glimpse of what a fairer ticketing future could look like—one Skrillex now appears committed to expanding as he looks ahead to more live shows.

“With that said I’m not complaining but I have some radical ideas for the future,” he added. “In the meantime we are doing everything we can to get fairly priced tickets in your hands.”
