Heart rates and tempos will rise in Chicago this summer at Faces of Fitness, which will feature a festival performance organizers are calling the first of its kind.<\/p>\n
The two-day festival, dubbed the “Lollapalooza of Fitness,” returns July 26-27 with a lineup of renowned instructors, studio classes and wellness experiences. Its pi\u00e8ce de r\u00e9sistance, however, is electronic music heavyweight Sam Feldt<\/a>, who is ushering in an ambitious fusion of fitness innovation and live electronic music. It’s the first time the DJ has ventured into fitness experiences, according to Faces of Fitness.<\/p>\n Feldt, who has commanded stages at\u00a0Coachella, Ultra and Tomorrowland,\u00a0will be integrated directly into the workout experience on the festival’s second day, July 27th. It’s a departure from the standard playbook that festival co-founder David Grass says was inevitable: “Music is such an intrinsic component of the fitness class experience,” he explained, noting that the collaboration represents the first time a global DJ has been woven into the fabric of a fitness class at this scale in the US.<\/p>\n The DJ will trade his usual festival mainstage for something entirely new, soundtracking live workout sessions. “Seeing happy faces and spreading happiness with my music… there is no better job in the world,” Feldt said of his unconventional new venue.<\/p>\n
