TikTok has announced plans to close its music streaming platform, TikTok Music.<\/p>\n
TikTok’s parent company, ByteDance, will officially take TikTok Music offline and permanently delete its consumer data on\u00a0November 28th, 2024, the company announced in a post on its website<\/a>.<\/p>\n Originally called Resso, the app launched back in 2019 to compete with Spotify, Apple Music and other major platforms. The streaming service was only available to users in select countries, including Brazil, Mexico and Australia. It was not yet accessible to TikTok’s users in the United States.<\/p>\n When visiting TikTok Music’s site, users are presented with two deadlines. Subscribers will have until October 28th to transfer their playlists to another platform. They will also have to request refunds by November 28th, the day of the platform’s closure.<\/p>\n
